Online File Sorter — Organize ZIP Archives AutomaticallyFree, no upload, works instantly in your browser
An online file sorter lets you automatically organize the contents of a ZIP archive directly in your browser — no software to install, no files sent to any server. ZipSort does exactly this, in seconds, with custom rules you define.
Why use an online file sorter?
Sorting files locally means extracting the archive, moving files by hand into folders, then re-zipping — three steps and several minutes of work. An online file sorter like ZipSort automates these steps in a single pass, without touching your file system.
- No installation required — works in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge
- Files never leave your computer (100% local processing)
- Done in seconds, regardless of archive size
- No account needed for the free tier
How ZipSort sorts your files
Load your ZIP archive
Drag and drop your file onto zipsort.app/sorter or click to browse. The archive is read locally — nothing is uploaded.
Define your sorting rules
Pick a built-in preset (Agency, Dev, Accounting, Freelance) or create custom rules by extension, prefix, suffix or keyword.
Preview the result
The folder tree updates live as you add rules. You see exactly where each file goes before downloading anything.
Download your sorted ZIP
Click Download. The new ZIP is generated in your browser and downloaded directly — no server involved.
Four types of sorting rules
By extension
All .pdf files go to /PDF, .jpg to /Images, etc.
By prefix
Files starting with invoice- go to /Invoices.
By suffix
Files ending with -final go to /Deliverables.
By keyword
Any file containing contract in its name goes to /Contracts.
